I just put in 110 Octane in the SC430 and I felt the performance was increased very, very smoothly like the acceleration. Unfortunately, a gallon of that was about $6.00 per gallon.. I spent a full tank of gas of $90.00, ouch.. But, just the experience of using the 110 Octane was worth it.. I felt like I was really racing down the freeways here in Cali..

Lets see $90 / $6 = 15 gallons so you mixed 15 gallons of 110 octane with 5 gallons of something lower so you probally only got 100-105 octane I think you need to fill 110 back to back and get more power

Apparently, A Lexus service coordinator said to me that the SC 430 is not built to handle any Octane Rating that is more then 91.. The result would cause the O2 sensors and the pistons to malfunction.. I don't know if that is true or not.. If it is, I have to handle the vehicle carefully by not driving it to race but just in normal condition according to what the Lexus Service Coordinator told me and gradually add 91 OctaneI know that the higher the octane rating of gas you used, the quicker it burns up making it more efficient so I don't see how that would malfunction anything in the engine..

That's what I think.. I trust the people more on this website about information about the SC 430 then some of the service ccordinators in certain Lexus dealership.. But man, I never knew that 100 or 110 Octane Gasoline can make a big difference in performance.. Since I had a quarter of a tank left of 91 Octane and I filled up with 110, I am running about 100-105 Octane in my vehicle.. I can't imagine the performance a "full" 110 Octane would do or the highest Octane I have seen in the market in Orange County, 112 Octane Unleaded Gas in a SC 430.. Let me know

Yup, it's BS, I put 94 in my car all the time the first couple of years I own the car, & only in the past year or so did I use 91 alternately with 94 because of the gas price.

In CA, the premimum pumps pretty much all pump 91 these days. The only thing I notice is some predetonation when cold and hitting the gas. That goes away as soon as the car reaches normal temp., and I suspect it is common.
I would love to try a 93 to see what will happen to release the few xtra HP trapped![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
