If they spray that VHT rubber on the track, let the other drivers wear that stuff down. If not, go ahead first.

In addition, I should have mentioned that if you are not spinning off the light, your tire psi is ok, otherwise lower it a little.

I most certainly remember that mosquito attracting humidity almost every day from elementary up to high school in south Dade County. You bet it kills times.

Another American racer told me the following:

Humidity up 5%, times down .01 in the 1/4 mile (e.g. time is 15.000 and humidity rises 5% for your next run, all things being equal...your time will be 15.010)
Air Temp up 3 degrees, time down .01 in the 1/4 mile
Air Pressure down .01, time down .01 in the 1/4 mile

These things will easily add up to .1 to .2 in no time, and you can use your time run on a previous night after recording the above variables to narrow down your time range for the upcoming night.

My biggest problems in Mexico City are the high altitude (23% less oxygen than sea level). You need to divide by about .9038 your time at Moroso to figure out what you would get up here. We also have horrible high sulfure gas (a state monopoly) and to round it off that world famous bad polluted air. You may have humidity at Moroso, but at least you are getting a lot more oxygen near sea level.

One thing, and I cannot stress this enough...keep your tank below 1/4 full. If you run on a full tank you can kill your times by about .3 (I have run a few tests to find this out and apart from a few anomalies this bears out) and it is like having another person tag along as co-pilot.

Tony

I find that for my car the way it is setup -an 1800k-launch is best.
This results in very little wheel spin with a hard launch and a gtech of 5.67 0-60 and 1/4 in 14.21 at 101.9. I could have done a tad better.
Sounds like your track is a bit slow. What were some times for some other cars?
