Default Tourque Converter for SC430?

What brands have you used?
What brands would you suggest?
Dragon? Level10? Rebuilt???
Is this a good option? Lextreme Only $350.00

There has been much discussion on the rebuilt vs the Dragon version in the GS section. May want to check those out.
Pretty much comes down to: rebuilt is fine and made better than stock and has most of the performance of the Dragon.
Dragon is smaller, lighter, and designed to be a performance converter. Smaller and lighter means less rotational mass=quicker acceleration.
Plus I do not believe Lextreme has cores for 430's. At least the last few times I checked they did not so your car would be down for a few days-week.

i would just go with the PI dragon 2800 stall. i have that in my gs400, i can't be happier

there are plenty of gs430 owners (same drivetrains as sc430) with it

granted though, more than likely you will get check engine light

coz' on 430 drivetrain it has more sensors and it sense that the stall speed is out of range (of course, that's the idea) so it flags you by triggering the cel

I have PLANS for the SC once we pick up the new house and the TC is one of them. Dragon of course. Why settle for less.

your the best lee I love having the fact that you do stuff first then share your knowledge. If the cel light comes on I am really hesitant to get one

pros:
1) stall speed higher, car is MUCH faster
2) shifting is a lot more responsive and faster, especially down shift

cons:
1) prepare to spend more money on gas
2) you need tranny cooler, coz' tranny gets a lot hotter
3) you have the check engine light most likely

i have had mine for a long time, no reliability issue. so do a lot of gs400 and gs430 owners.

My Level 10 convertor is awesome, but otherwise my experience with Level 10 building the trans on my Supra led me to file complaints with the NJ Dept. of Consumer Affairs which was followed by many other Supra owners doing the same. I really don't reccommend anyone doing business with them.

Well, I sold the 968 Cab so I pushed up the date on this install depending on when TM can do it as I have no time. Will let you know.
