Hi, Just curious if anyone has rolled or shaved fenders on a SC430? I need to find a shop in the SoCal area to do just that, even though it may be a challenge with the wheel liner going all the way to the fender edge.
I just got Lexion Type 503s , 19x9, and 19,x10 installed. The fronts are fine, but the rears rub when I go over bumps, no doubt due in part to the 285/30R19 tires.

I tried and no the way its designed it doesnt roll well. If you can pinpoint where its rubbing I can give you some advice as to solve it. I am running 20x10.5 285/30/20 in the rear right now and no rubbing at all. My guess is at the top. if your on CS try raising it up about .3 inches or so. I found raising my car about .3-.4" up front basically took my rubbing from every time I braked to only at large dips in the road. My rear is tucking tires right now with a 2 degree negative camber

Why? is it because of the more curve on the fender of a SC430 compared to a GS3/4?
Most GS3/4's in their fourm have shaved their fenders and it looks like a straight line, which is nice.
But on our cars, the back fender kind of sticks out in a curvacious angle similar to a boat or something.

My car's not even dropped. It's on factory suspension. The rubbing is happening at the fender edges on both the rear tires. Probably the wheels are sticking out too far. The shop told me that the wheels are +35mm offset, but based on how far the wheels are sticking out, I bet that they must have gotten the number wrong.
It looks like fender shaving might be my only option at this point, even if it's not easy to do.
I'll post pics soon.

Like ROMINL said, it's not needed. Tony's suggestion makes sense by raising or double check the size and offset. Check ROMINL's tire thread sticky for the correct fitting for sc430.
I don't think none of our sc's here have rolled our fenders. If you do, you'll be the first.
Most others are running 19's or 20's and haven't had any major issues w/ rubbing.

this is an overall view from the back of the car. So what's the verdict? Is this wheel sticking out to far for a 19x10" +35mm offset rim? I'm planning on taking the car back to the shop on Friday and seeing what they can do about the rubbing.

ok, one more pic so you can see the rims better. Aren't they beautiful? I'm not sure if they're officially released yet since they're not on the mackin industries website yet.

the sc430 rear fenders are very hard to play with, here's why. the fender well plastic flap, it's actually put on together with the fender lip tab. that's totally different from other lexus (for example the 2gs and the 1is), where the lip is just a lip, a metal piece. on those cars, you can just shave the whole lip away (like my gs400) and youa re good to go
however on the sc430, if you take it away or shave it, you will be left with the plastic fender flap hanging. that's not going to be good, and you would hae to do something to stick that back to teh fenders, either by bondo or so. that's a lot more work.
i should rephrase it. it's doable, but it's a lot more work. and yes you can fit much more aggressive wheels afterwards though, but i am too old for that.
and btw josh, make sure you solve the problem soon, you are taking a big big hit on the tires, if you get more scrap on it, the tires are gone
