Can anyone tell me if they are/is having this problem with ther radio/cd. Everytime i turn it up loud, it temp. stop working until i turn it back down? i took it to the dealer and the service adivsor informed me that the amp is going bad (1,800 to replace). Where is that amp located? and if anyone has one for sell i am intrested in purchasing it at a fair price.

the amp is in the trunk, you have to take off the trunk carpet and stuff to see it. 1800 for the amp is stupid. you can probably get it for much cheaper from carson toyota?

That's an expensive amp. I wonder if you might want to try running your stereo with the volume up and taking a temperature reading on the amp to make sure that amp overheating is the culprit. It'd be a shame to spend that much money and find out that doesn't solve the problem.

Another possible failure mechanism might be a partial short in a speaker or some of the wiring that is drawing extra current. ?
