Default Lexus Debuts 2008 SC 600h:World's First Hybrid V8 Sports Coupe (Purely Fictional)

They didn't really...

But don't you think it's possible that they would soon? Aren't we due for some sort of update?

It would be damn cool.

Mods? is this gonna get kicked to the curb really quickly? Should I make this post with that title?

man we should soooo ban you

anyway, i really dont' think we will see sc600h, at least not any time soon. it has to be lexus flagship first, and i dont' think lexus is anywhere like mb yet where they can pull off with the sl600, s600, and cl600

the sc430 just got a facelift for 06, so i think AT THE VERY MOST, we see a redesign in 08, but that's probably with the "standard" engine setup first?

Personally I would rather see a new SC with the V10 (no, not referring to the LF-A) before a SC600h . . .

Not necessary so, while I think the SC should always remain a GT that emphasize on luxury AT LEAST as much as on sports (let the LF-A be the real sports car), the SC should still be more sporty than the LS. So I don't think it's necessary for the LS to always have the newest first even though the LS is the flagship sedan. They put a V10 in the M5 & M6 & the 7 series aren't getting that engine.

but the m5 and m6 aren't normal cars in the bmw lineup i should say. if lexus has a separate gt lineup, having the ultimate sport version of the IS, GS, SC, etc... then yes, i wouldn't be surprised if they have v10 in the SC (that's if they don't have GT version for the LS)

however, if you just talk about the normal future sc? i don't know. you don't see anyting special engine on the sl that's not on the s class

The "normal " future SC would be the SC500 with the new V8 most likely. So if they put a V10 into the SC, I guess that would be a sportier, higher performance version like the AMG/M/S Using the V10 only on the very limited production LF-A just seem a little wasteful to me, I suppose they might want to have a differently tuned version put in other models like the SC as well . . .

well in that case, i would actually think they have something similar for the LS as well. somehow i think lexus would kinda follow the mb path more than the bmw. just a guess of course

Alright , enough of the speculation about V10's , back to the original topic, the SC600h.
If the new SC remains a hardtop convertible, I don't know how the trunk space will be like, with the space back there taken up by the folding top & the batteries LOL, unless they can make improved batteries that's much much smaller than the current ones . . . or they may have to make the hybrid version a regular coupe only without the folding top. Still I would rather see a V10 . . .

hey excellent point there andrew if they do the sc600hl, they really have to just get rid of the rear seats, otherwise it's just plain dumb now just think about insurance cost, haha

Cool I need that!!

I love you Rominl, However I have to disagree with you. Lexus can definitely pull off a 600 SC or LS for that matter. and yeah I'd be on the waiting list . As for an 08 not quite most likely '09 or '10 and yeah SC600h sounds tasty. I'm rollling up my pennies as we speak and i'll be cashing my bottles at A & P ASAP!!

hey you gotta read again what i said i didn't say there won't be sc600, i very much would guess there will be one. i was saying i don't think there will be a sc with v10 before the ls does

sc is, and i think will continue to be, the lexus top of the line coupe, just like the sl and s class for mb. so it makes sense to have the best in it as well

My bad Rominl, my misinterpretation. 600 badges would look great on the back with a big L. Do you agree??......by the way did I tell you guys that I saw an old 96 or so LS400 with a MB 600 badge. It was the greatest thing. I'm all for stunting but damn. If only I had a camera handy.

it's ok man, dont' waste your camera, worthless

but yes, ultimately having the sc600hl to pair with the ls600hl, i thnk that's a good idea
