Its all good, I will have to get used to it. I am just going to go ahead and drill the holes and put it on so they dont roll on me again.

I've always thought that following the law was not optional. As far as SCs are concerned, I've owned a `94 SC400, an `02 SC430, and an `04 SC430; all of them had front license plates (in "Lexus" - not dealership - frames), and all of them looked good wearing them. I may be "special" to me and my family, but I'm like everyone else when it comes to the law.

What does the Lexus frame look like? I haven't seen any frames made for the SC.

Well, I've lived in TX for over 20 years, and NEVER had a front license plate. So far, never a ticket, and just one warning. Been pulled over 3 times in 24 years (2 tickets), and only that one time I was told something about my front plate. But if it came down to drilling my car or paying a stupid ticket for that (non-moving violation), I'd definitely pay the ticket. But I'd certainly attempt to circumvent paying it: tell them you can't find where to buy a bracket. Put the plate under the windshield. Put duct tape rolled backwards (to form a double-sided piece) all over the plate, and it should hold on for an inspection. Whatever. But DON'T DRILL YOUR BUMBER man .
And Leslie, did you know you're breaking the law every time you go over the speed limit? please don't tell us you never do that . The front license plate is a stupid law IMHO (many states don't have it), just like the majority of speed limits. I was told the purpose of the front plate is if you're involved in criminal activity, the police has one more way of getting your license plate number. Well, I'm no criminal. And just like if you speed, if you're willing to pay the consequences (possible fine or defensive driving), you can break either law; that doesn't make you a criminal. Just giving you a hard time . Later guys.

I was thinking of trying to get the ticket signed off without drilling the holes but I might just give in and put that sucker on permanently. I work in an area filled with cops and I might try to get one of those blue tinted license plate shades to try to blend it in with my blue car. I really appreciate all the suggestions here. Thanks!

i just took my front plate off my LX this morning because i was bored. I Put a chrome plate with a chrome Lexus emblem on in place of it. Lets see what happens, worst comes to worst i have the NY plate in the back w/ a screw driver. If i get pulled ill swap it right there on the side of the road.

Sometimes having the missing plate handy will work, along with a number of excuses. (I have both of mine stashed in the back just in case).
This is of no help, of course, if the officer eyes your car because the meter ran out and he tacks the no front plate violation onto the parking violation. That happened to my brother, who had no opportunity to give his song and dance routine.
He just paid up.
On the other hand, why take off the plate just to add a corporate logo? Generally we stash the front plate for aesthetic reasons, especially on the SC400.

I own a 2002 430, and I have not once been pulled over for not having a front license plate.
I do, however, live in California, and to be honest, I am not too sure what the law is concerning the front plates, but hey, I'm not gonna take a power drill to the face of my car.
