The LF-A is not new and it's not out.
That concept car has been public for over a year (I was sending photos to my friends a year ago telling them that I had signed up for the waiting list.)
As configured, it's sometimes a coup and sometimes a hard top convertible. It's always a 500 hp V-8 with a top speed of close to 200 mph and a projected price way, way over $100,000.00, should it ever be made.
It's not comparable to any current model and most publications doubt that anything like it will be made, even on a limited production basis.
. . . . as far as I know.

Most "spy photos" are given to the automotive press by the manufacturers to get a little publicity, just as many "candid" shots of celebs in "People Magazine" are arranged in advance (except for Brittany -- those are real).

I think you are right about the V-10.
A V-8 would not get a car going much above 150 or 160, and this car is designed for speeds way above that, and close to 200.

My guess is that the IS based convertible will replace the current sc.
Remember how mercedes had an e class vert and then it went bye bye with the c class vert taking over.
The LFA will be the top of the brand halo car (based on the > $100K estimates).

Maybe in the fall of 2008 as a 2009 model I'm sure the next generation SC will follow the displacement of the next generation LS 460 which would lead to the SC 460. We'll just have to wait and see...
