How's it going? I just started doing some research on possibly getting an sc430. I wanted to know if anyone has heard if there's any changes to the 07? Obviously, I'd like to have the new 4.6L motor & 8-speed tranny but I highly doubt it's going to happen for the 07' model year. Thx!

no one has heard anything. as discussed before, it's very doubtful tha the 460 engine and 8 speed will make it to the sc430, the engine and drivetrain are both very different from the current 430 + 6 speeds setup. i would say it's probably going to be very similar to the 06

I asked the salesperson about the 07 when buying mine last week, and he said it would be the same thing as the 06.

I'd imagine if they are planning a ground-up redesign for '08 or something then they'd probably just continue one more year with the 4.3 and 6-speed. That way they save retooling costs for the final year of this SC body.

of the 3rd gen SC. It might be a while before we see a new design. 2009? '07 will be much the same as the '06 refresh. I would expect an IS or IC design to arrive before the next gen SC. The much anticipated GS460 would be expected as an early '08 provided the engine fit issues are resolved....

The GS 460 is coming spring 2007. Maybe the SC 460 could come out fall 2007 as a 2008 model year then fall of 2008 the third generation SC...

like i said before, the 430 and 460 engines are completely different, down to the design. it's easier said than done to put the engine in, when teh car was designed to have the 430 engine to begin with. not to mention the 8 speed tranny. i dont' think they can just put in the 460 engine on the current sc430 chassis like that?

Yes I agree with Henry that there should be no SC460 with the current body style.

indeed, IC sounds pretty bad....... i mean, i know there are only 26 letters to choose from, but they could have chosen something better than IC @_@

There is nothing official about IC btw. I just threw that in because it should be based on the IS series. The SC in '07 should get the gen 5 Nav and before you yawn that would be a big upgrade. When motoring top down the sun can bleach out the screen image. I doubt that will happen with the new VGA screen which has twice the resolution and is very bright. I haven't even heard a peep about this but would welcome this feature to the SC430 as the GS350/430 and the LS460 of course will have it so why not the SC? The SC could use a backup camera because it's hard to see backwards with the top up. That may be more of a challenge to introduce. Add to my wishlist some type of IPOD input, especially one that would allow on screen selections. If the SC430 gets the gen 5 Nav then it will improve the Bluetooth phone features. I would like to dial a number by voice command with the top down at 120 MPH! Hellooooo? I'mmmmm runnnnning late and I'll beeee there in 10 minutes, OOOOO KKKKK?

Lexus should deffinitely upgrade the Nav also a new pebble beach edition would be nice maybe bring the red interior color to america and offer the option of choosing different grades of wood with any interior color and offering a choice of bronze or grey heels like in japan.

good point on the nav, rock, they can definitely use the upgraded nav on the car. the new screen is definitely something nice and a step better than a lot others
