i have a 2002 sc 430 and i was wondering why when you floor it it delays before the engine really starts to kick in??

Lexus makes even the worst of drivers seem like they can accelerate smoothly.

You need to get an 06. The new tranny takes care of that.

That used to happen to me. Try disconnecting your battery for 15 min then drive it around pretty hard, the computer will learn your driving habits and it won't lag anymore. This method worked for me.

but after you drive less aggressive for a while the computer will relearn the driving again

yes that's the throttle timing design problem, happens to all 430 setup (gs, sc, ls) with 5 speed auto. you just have to get used to it i guess
