Default VSC, VSC OFF, & ABS Lights

Anyone else experience this?

My "VSC" light, "VSC OFF" light, and "ABS" light are all on. The manual doesn't offer a lot of information, but suggests that the car can be driven and the dealer should check it as soon as possible. I'll be calling them tomorrow, but, being 160 miles away, I don't just "pop in".

I'm just curious to know if anyone here ever had the same symptoms.

Thanks,
EdP

Default 2006 sc430

I had that when I had a bad speed sensor ( harness ).

I first tried to reset, but the lights came back on.

samster, et. al. ...

Nothing special happened or was done to my car. The warning lights were not on when I left to visit friends about 15 miles away. After overstaying my welcome and starting up the car to return home, the lights were on.

On my way to their house, I had to drive over some streets that had just been scraped in preparation for repaving, but they were clean and free from tar, stones, and other debris. I also had to drive over a couple of one- or two-inch vertical drops/rises in the road, but did so at a very low speed.

Thanks for the suggestions regarding the speed sensor. I did some reading about them - maybe just a wire came loose. Let's see what my service manager says. I'd hate to drive a 320-mile round trip for a five-minute job if it's something simple.

yeah hopefully it's just something loose. most of the people worked on the suspension and damaged the speed sensors, otherwise i haven't heard of any "self mulfunction"

Verrrrrry interesting!

I'll be taking it to the dealer's in a couple of weeks - let's see what happens. The service manager is also guessing a speed sensor malfunction

well i couldn't find a better way to describe something that suddenly goes wrong by itself without you doing any damage, so i used the term "self mulfunction"

Default You were correct

Well, you guys were correct - a bad speed sensor.

Labor - $126.75
Parts - $215.30

It's a 2.5 hour drive to my dealer and I wasn't about to stick around, so they gave me a 2007 ES350 as a loaner. Nice car - much more forgiving on road surface anomalies and much less wind noise than the SC.
I'm gettin' kinda old, I guess, but it beats the alternative.

I was going to ask where exactly are these sensors, but I guess it's a good excuse to put that huge service manual to good use.
Have a good one folks.
