Changing the oil
I just bought a 2002 SC430 and want to change the oil myself. Need help on the procedure, do I need ramps or can I just jack-up one side and which one and how do I get access to the filter and drain plug. Thanks!!!

I've not done it on the SC430, but I did do it a time or two on my SC400.
It's not easy, and ramps are your best bet. You have to get the car up in the air, because there's not a lot of room under there. Once you get under there, you have to remove the big plastic piece that covers everything under there. I think it's held on with about 5 or 6 hex head screws.
Once that's off and out of the way, the rest is standard stuff. Just be careful with that protector piece because if you stress it at the screw holes, you can tear it from the hole to the edge, and then it will fall off when it gets a good blast of wind under there, meaning at 85 MPH, and you don't want that.
THis is my best guess, because, as I mentioned, I have not done this on this car. Maybe someone who has done it can provide more details.

its not that bad if you got a hydro jack just jack up I think the driver side, even a normal car jack is fine if your skinny enough. Someone chime in if its the other side. I doubt you need ramps, But I am skinny so I fit under there pretty easy. If you got a size 40 waist or something you might have some problems. There is one small panel just for the oil, IE so you dont got to remove all those panels under neath the car. Shouldnt be too many clips/screws that that small panel.

Never get under a car held up with just a jack. A jackstand is a must if you are not going to use ramps.
In fact with two jackstands, you can lift up both sides of the car to make more room.
They are not expensive and available at any AutoZone type store.
Much cheaper than surgery.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome Fred. Plug is on the passenger side so ensure that the drivers side is a tad higher once jacked up to ensure it all comes out. Always use a means of alternate support as well.

Haha why me? your the one that does the crazy stuff. I just use your left overs. Who needs 6 pot? I think 4 pot would be more than adequate. Plus with a price tag of close to 1g just for the front, the supra BBK sounds like a more econmical solution.

You DO NEED to get the car on ramps buddy; believe me. And there're OVER 20 screws to remove, so it'll take a bit of time, but it'll be much easier the next time. I use Rhino ramps, by the way; they're great, and cheap (any auto parts store has them).
If you don't remove the front belly pan (no need to remove the rear though), you'll make a mess. When removing the oil filter, tape a plastic bag under the oil filter and wrap it on the frame member so all oil flows to the oil pan. I didn't do that the first time, and was cleaning oil all the way back to the transmission housing for hours. In fact, I thought for a moment I had a rear engine seal problem. Hope you read this on time to avoid that nasty surprise .
Other than that, I also take the time to clean everything around, check for leaks, etc. The first time, I installed an extension to the A/C discharge hose, since it's too high, and splashes on the frame member making a mess. I used a hose clamp I had from my bike and installed it in a hole there, so now the hose throws the water just behind the frame member, not splashing anywhere. Oh, and I always leave the car draining overnight, so I can finish in the job when it's cool in the morning.
