Welcome. There are a GREAT many post on this scenario here on this forum. Conduct a search and you will see that many here have been in the same decision making process as you. Simple answer is that decision is up to you and only you depending on what you are looking for in a car and what meets those needs. For me it is the SC430. Not even a close decision. But that is me.

what year is your M3? hard top or convertible?
If it's a hard-top and you like the performance and handling, keep it.
if it's a soft-top, get the SC430 and the performance and handling comes later....

Ahh, a few of us here have or had a GS4 myself included. The SC handles better than a GS due to it's neutral weight balance. The steering is a little stiffer in the SC as well. Best to go drive one at your local dealership. Keep in mind that a stock SC does not feel that great due to it's run flats-but that is another search. Best on your decision.

The above pretty much says it all. Just seconding the motions....
For serious driving performance- get the M3. For luxury/sports- it's the SC. I used to have the GS also and having the SC now, it feels *almost* like an extension of the GS- but more fun due to convertible top and overall smoother/quieter in my opinion. The SC is not as quick as the GS400 in feel but on paper, the difference is marginal. I thought about the M3 also for a while before getting the SC but for my age- middle age- my body naturally prefers the luxo ride.
