First off, this is my first post on this site, and I am glad to have joined this community.
I drive a 2002 SC430 totally stock.
I have noticed that while I drive, a strange squeaking sound can be heard from the front end of the car. At first, I thought it sounded like the suspension squeaking, but later on noticed that when standing outside and listening for the sound, it seemed to come from inside the hood.
This strange noise seems to sound when I drive over small bumps and dips, and it recently, it has grown louder. If anyone would happen to know what might be causing this, any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I also have a 2002, and it developed what sounds like the same squeak I had. A Lexus tech and I figured it out by dropping the top and having him hang over the windshield while I drove next to a brick wall - that's the short version..
It may be your hood pressure adjusters (or what ever they're really called) - the adustable screws under the hood (at the edge of the hood - about 4, I think) with the rubber grommet-like pieces on top of them. You can check this by poping the hood and driving with the front latch still attached or by screwing down the adjusters until they no longer contact the hood.
Or, you could just enscrew them a little so that they tension the hood more, and see if the noise goes away. You might also want to spray the rubber parts with a silicone spray.

One of the bests things I did after buying my 2002 SC430 was to pay $30 to ALLDATA.com for a 1 year subscription to their website for technical information on my car. Once registered, you can obtain all of the technical service bulletins for your car that described the problems and associated fixes for a myriad of problems. Your problem is likely an accessory drive belt noise described in TSB EG003-04. In this case the accesssory drive belt needs to be replaced with an updated one. TSB SU003-02 describes abnormal noises on Turns and Bumps. This may also be your problem. I suggest going to AllDATA and downloading the TSBs and then confronting Lexus with these issues which have been known since 2003. I did just that and I was able to get Lexus to agree to replace my amplifier even though my car is out of warranty.

i have the same squeaking. it's not very flattering and downright annoying at times i just want to enjoy the ride without cranking up the radio volume. i don't really know what it is or where it comes from, and i've complained at the 15k/20k/25k service without any resolution. the squeak exists over small bumps and also on a smooth road if you are turning left or right. i had a tech ride with me and they noted the noises but then could not figure out how to silence them, so now i just live with it. luckily the lease is up soon and i will be getting into another car soon.
