Default I got my new wheels... Pic...

Ok, I know I'm a jerk for flaking on EOS but I think I had a good reason, I was busy test fitting some wheels on my car. The wheels are RH CX Multi-Piece in 19x9 ET24 and 19x10 ET22 (this is what I was told). Tire sizes are 245/35 fronts and 285/35 rears. The rears are oversized (because they came from a 350Z) and i had to roll the fenders to get them to bolt up.. =( But with a slight stretch and the correct size, I think 275/30s should do the trick. The tires are almost gone, so I'll be buying tires here real soon.

But here's the part where some information goes along way. If your like me and your car is pretty low and you've had your camber pulled, this is about as low of an offset as you can go. As is with my oversized tires, the tires are slightly rubbing the point where the rear bumper raps around the car and bolts up to the rear fender. There is nothing you can do about this. Its a single point to hold the bumper there and you can not just grind it away. I know other people here are running more offset but again, read above. I would spec out this car to be able to run a 19x10 ET 20 max and this is with the correct sized tires. So be careful if you're picking up some wheels from the 350z and G35 guys. The wheels I got were shallow for those guys and the 350z that I got them from was tucking them with about 1" to spare.

So enjoy and I'll get some more pics up here soon (I got my Soarer badges waiting for me at the post office, front and rear...).

P.s. If anyone wants to take my old 20" Black Nad wheels off my hands please let me know. I'm willing to let them go for $1400 (not shipped) and they have almost brand new Falken FK452 tires and TPS sensors.

Okay. Not fully forgiven until you join us at a meet tho

Perhpas you, me and Damlex (wherever he is) can get together and take some pics. 3 black modified SCs should look sweet. Perhaps an all SC meet is in order again. Just a thought.

Looks good! Quick question though...Why did you switch from 20's to 19's? I just got 20's & they look great on the sc430. Fills up the gap nicely.

Man, I thought you guys would understand.. man I got new wheels.. this up there with having kids, parents birthdays and getting married.... Sigh..

But yeah, thats why I put that there. My set up is rubbing (just very slightly, as in it doesn't get worse when my suspension compresses) so with the correct size tires, I would only guess you can get another 2mm or so before you start having problems. With the correct tires, I probably just barely had to roll the fenders.. and i wouldn't be rubbing the mounting point for the bumper..

Thru out the years, me and my friends have gotten good at guessing the right offset. I think we got it within about +/- 5mm. 10 on a 25 was what i was aiming for and the G35/350z guys are all running 10.5 ET~25, which wouldn't work for me.

But thanks for the kind words, I'll get some better pics this weekend (hopefully with my soarer badges)

P.s. Oh and I second the motion for a SC430 meet. Three black mod'd Sc's should make a nice pic shoot. Kind of like the three mod'd white Sc's.. So jealous...

When I got the car with the wheels, they came with 245/35/20 front tires. When I lowered the car, I started rubbing and found out that those tires are too large in diameter for the car. Correct size for a +2 is 235/30/20 or a 245/30/20. So I picked up a set of 235/30/20s but they ride so harsh its not fun. So +1 size in a 19" is just about right.. 235/35/19s and 275/30/19s, both have just enough sidewall to keep the ride reasonable...

Plus, I don't mind the 19" size. I know most here prefer the 20s but I've never been one to go with the grain.. =(

I like the look. The SC430 is so stylish, non-chrome 5 spoke wheels like these tone down the a little. A nice drop, too. I prefer 19's for the ride comfort and sportability.....hey, is that a new word. Anyway, you can drive more spirited on 19's when you're in the mood.

Ken,

Trust me when I say that I too almost went the 19" route. In fact, this was only within the last month. My reason for downgrading was a bit different though. It's still an option right now so I have to keep it hush hush . PM me and I may give up the goods...

Oh, and I still have to meet you in person. Hopefully we can set this up soon. Take care.

Default SC meet?

I say definitely on an SC meet. How about Monterey. You know, the Aquarium, 17 mile drive (Pebble Beach model significance there) world class race track, as well as a half-way point between NorCal and SolCal? What do you guys think? "NASCAL SC2" Northern and Southern California 2nd annual SC Meet?. Maybe in Feb. or Mar.? Hmmmmmm....How would 20 or so SC's look rolling down Cannery Row at dusk I wonder?
