Default SC430 OWNERS!!! i have a question

i am a serious buyer... and before I dump my entire savings I would like to know one question?

Will the future SC430's come with the new LS engine the 4.6 liter v8 that produces 380+HP. I am only speaking in terms with this SC bodystyle mated with the LS motor thus making it an SC460.... <~~will this ever happen with this generation SC

Nothing official from Lexus about the next redesigned SC, but I think chances are very slim that they will put the new 460 engine into the current body style . . .

i agree, very unlikely they will put the 460 engine in the current body style. i might go into the redesign, or might go in as 500 engine

well if you've seen the lexus LF-A concept, its rumored to have a 5.0 liter engine and ive heard that itll be named the GT500.

i highly doubt the sc series will feature the 4.6 liter that the ls has.

I haven't seen any solid information on an SC successor, but all signs point to a model that, like the LF-A will be significantly more sophisticated, significantly faster, and significantly more expensive. If not $100K, a lot closer to it than the SC's current price.

sorry bro... Im interested in the 06+ just for the reason that they have upgraded headlights and tails also i think the cluster is different.... I dont know why the Sc went down in HP from 300 to 288 but speed doesnt really matter to me...

Nice to know you live in Los Angeles... I love living here

Hey 999 - Actually, the SC didn't drop any horsepower at all. The only difference is the recent adoption of SAE regulations governing the measurement of HP - it's still the same as it ever was! And yes, it's nice to live where it's 85 degrees on November 7!

i didn't follow the sc430, but i believe the ls430 went from 6.2 to like 5.9 or 5.8 i forgot

but i think the key is the throttle, which is much faster imho

Official difference between 06+ & pre-06 SC430 's 0-60 times is 0.1 sec, 5.9 sec. vs. 5.8 sec. So the difference is not significant at all, but like Henry said, it's the throttle response.
