Default update to 06+ headlight conversion?

I know there is the 06 tail light conversion update for pre 06 models but I was wondering if anyone has done a 06 headlight conversion? Is the headlight the same shape for 06+ models where it can be a plug and play type thing? Or are there too many "behind the scenes" things going on with those moving internal headlights?

From my understanding the change affects the hood, bumper and maybe even the fenders in addition to the headlight assembly. I have a 2007 so I need to set it next to a pre 2006 model to really see the differences. From what I here this is not a plug and play change.

I very much doubt you can make the adaptive feature work, since it requires input from somewhere in the steering system. And might even be controlled by the ECU.
My next question would be: how do you know they're perfectly centered, and how do you know they won't move since the adaptive system won't be operational? Not worth it IMO.

Agreed, I bet he will never have headlights that point in the right direction again.

i am pretty sure the adaptive feature won't work as well, it has to be more input somewhere from the car, probably too much trouble to even consider

but before that, worry about the gap first. from what i know (basically GEEBEE tried), the bumper is different, you will have gaps

Hope you'll fail, so I don't need to spend more money in the headlight.

Don't give up yet. I'm sure the 07's cost you a chunk. I like the fact that you are checking the possibilities. Talk to a Lexus tech... maybe they can clue you in on the electrical aspect, you can inspect the fitment aspect yourself. Keep trying to make it work. If you get em to work, we (02-05) can all get em. If it means new 07 headlights, new 07 hood, and new 07 front bumper cover for fitment then it might be to much $$$$$ anyway.

On the bumper, the different part number is due to those new (ugly) chrome details by the foglights gentlemen; headlight surround looks the same side by side. But man, those new headlights look UGLY; why would anyone want to change them????? Fenders should be identical as well.

I could be wrong, since I didn't scrutinize the cars with replacing headlights in mind, but a quick visit to your friendly dealer should clear the issue. Besides, how the hell do you guys plan to adapt the 'adaptive' feature? Is your ego that big that you want to be perceived as driving a brand new car??? A quick view at the base of your windshield and that 10th digit would reveal the painful truth. Ha ha.
