why on a 67k car do the stock rims frankly...suck?

I wonder if the wheel choice depends on the dealer that supplied the cars for the show. The observation cars all had stickers from the nearest Lexus dealer, so may be the drive test cars come from the same dealer and the equipment depends on what they ordered it with? Just a guess.

At least they are right in my case, I like the platinum two tone color, the design is secondary for me in this case.

I saw an SC430 with the "spider" mesh wheels on it in a Lexus showroom when I went to see the new LS460 2 days ago, it looks quite good too, I like the spider & the multi-spokes better than the 2-tone 5 spokes for the SC430 . . .

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I bought my SC430 a few weeks ago and wanted to replace the OEM wheels. Mine weren't actually the standard wheels, they were graphite in the middle with chrome along the outsides. From some angles, they looked great, especially on Smoky Granite, but from other angles they looked pretty "bling". Not my taste. I was actually going to have the dealership trade them out for the standard wheels until I saw the standard wheels on another Smoky Granite. Yikes! Talk about dark!
Anyway, after reading through this thread I went to Sewell Lexus to check out wheel options. The parts and service people were uninimous in their opinion that the Tourmalines looked best on this car. I went for it. They gave me a loaner and changed out the wheels the same day.
The Tourmalines look great! They go really well with the lines of the car. Sporty yet classy. For anyone who wants to stay with 18" OEM's, I would highly recommend them.
