Default Trunk Leaks on Both Sides of Trunk

Has anyone ever hear of gasket leaks at the forward end of the trunk (base of the window) on both sides of the trunk? Water runs down in the trunk over the cover of the hinges for the roof when driving in rain or washing the car. I think I can see where the gasket is lifting up, allowing the water to run in, but I can't believe it's happening on my '02. Granted the car was actually built in '00 and Texas heat bakes all the rubber components.

I'm going to be having the dealership fix it at my next oil change.

If nothing else, this is a warning to folks to check for trunk leaks as the gaskets age.

Thanks.

Robert

I had to have the gasket replaced around the rear window on the driver's side as it began to separate. It wasn't cheap through the dealership but it did stop the water from coming into the back seat. And I used the points from my Lexus Pursuits Visa card to cover it. That has really come in handy in deflecting costs when I have to use the dealer, like in this case. Mine is an '02 as well. I figure they know what they're doing in these situations and they do have the gasket parts for our car.

I took the corners out under the taillamps and there was a puddle of water in each corner. Its been raining for 3 days straight. Which gasket is it I need to change? I couldnt find were it would be leaking from.

So just have the dealer replace the seal around the trunk? Thanks Tony
