Hey, thanks for the reassurance buddy. Didn't really want to replace the stereo, since every time either the stereo or A/C panel gets replaced, owners complain the leather around got messed up.
Not a big deal really, but even cheapo stereos in older Civics have that, and all my previous Lexus cars had it as well. Weird. Take care.

Question Radio CD Shut Off

I have a 2002 RHD SC430. I use the tape with a cassette adapter for the ipod. (I would like a direct input but it seems too hard).

Worked fine but now shuts down randomly and eject the cassette. Volume, hot, cold, humid etc makes no difference - just random.

I guess no one has any ideas as it seems a similar problem to the first post.

I have a similar problem with my cassette adapter. Although it doesn't eject it i can sense a fade out in the volume. I believe is the low quality of the cassette adapter itself. No problems with the radio or cd player. BTW.

No volume numbers on 2003 model either.

yea I went through some cheap cassette adapters on ebay that did that. I just went and bought a name brand one.

Also there is a post somewhere in the forums where someone taped directly into the audio lines with some relays I think. BTW I want a RHD
