Default Expiring Warranty Question...

Hello All.

as some of you already know, I am in the market for a used SC430 in southern california.

i found a 2002 SC430 with almost 50,000 miles on it and if the price is good, I think I will go ahead and purchase it.

My question is that the car's warranty is going to expire within a thousand miles, I was wondering if I can pay lexus dealer to do overall check-up and have them fix everything under warranty before expiration. Will lexus dealer do that?

Also, what would be a reasonable price on a 2002 SC430 with 49,000 miles on it in california??

Thanks!!

If you are talking about the comprehensive coverage, the warranty is for 4 years/50,000 miles whichever comes first right ?

It's already November 2006 now, so I don't see how a 2002 SC430 is not over 4 years old, unless it was purchased new as a left-over after the 2003 models came out. Even my 2003 SC430 is past 4 years old now even though my car has less than 20,000 miles on it.

Yep, warranty is long over buddy. If car hasn't been wrecked, and looks well taken care of, you should be fine. On cars this reliable, you'd be wasting your money on extended warranties anyway, unless you have extremely bad luck with that car, but the odds are in your favor. Just do a carfax on the car to avoid surprises. Good luck.

i see. i thought it was a 5year/50,000 miles warranty for some reason.

oh, well. so let's say the car is still under warranty, would the dealer check the car and fix everything under warranty if i asked?

LMAO! I don't trust Carfax for accident reports. The only reason I would use them is to check when it was registered by an owner(s).

What the hell else can you use? It's better than nothing. And I never said anything about its accuracy, did I?
It's just one more tool to make an informed decision.
