I pay about 1300 a year with Safeco for maximum coverage (I think it's half a million all around) with a $250 (previous error corrected) deductible as my primary car. Even if I list it as a recreational car, two cars will be the same as this one so I just leave it.

Hey up here in Canada insurance is highway robbery! In Ontario it is not Government Regulated. I am 40 years old with a clean record and I pay $2500 a year. That is considered cheap in Toronto for a car of such value. Others with 1 or 2 speeding tickets are paying around 3 to 4 thousand dollars a year for a car with half the value

seems like two huge group. one group (mine) is paying around 1200-1300 per year, but some of you guys are paying 600 a yr. what's the difference? are you guys doing less mileage? i know if you say you drive 5k a yr rather than 15k a yr, it's much less

I paid $290 every 6 months ($600 a year) the last time (full coverage with max liability and $500 deductible). I put very few miles a year, but insurance never asks for mileage, so that's not relevant in my case. Both me and my wife have absolutely perfect driving record, so that has to help, but the state you live in is even more critical for rates. I'd pay a lot less in other states, but a lot more in some others. Just shop around every year or so, and live with it.
