About the same here in the DC area, between 600-650, and they do a hella lot though. But I find it expensive but hey whadayagonnado. I took a Lexus 30k recommended service to several independen mechanics and they qouted, 500-580, might as well let the dealer do it and get the courtesy lexus to drive around in.

Did that include the K&Y jelly?
Seriously, unless you do the service yourself (I do), it's going to be in that ballpark, whether dealer or not. If I was paying for service, I'd also let dealer do it... if you trust them.

the 3 san diego dealers were 700+, it really depends on your region and how much competition there is
i don't know what they add in there, but i am sure it's a lot of extraneous stuff that is "recommended" but not required by lexus. recommended items may be good services anyway, not necessarily dumb things that make no sense (i.e., dealers have varying opinions on trans flushing intervals)
i don't know what it would have been to just do the things as stated in the manual, but i imagine it's still quite a bit of work, at least in the 400-500 range...

I would say you are right. I got it done free so the price was right. but in another 30K miles I will have done what needs to be done in a item by item bases. Much cheaper. Lexus dealers alway do a 25 point inspection along with a normal oil/filter change and car wash. Then you have them do a transmission service, next trip you have the rear diff fluid changed, you change your own airconditioning filter and air filter. You can save big $$$ doing it this way along with the fact that you get a loaner car full of gas for the day. But I'm retired so I have plenty of time on my hands to play games with the dealer. With a high $$ vehicle like Lexus, the MD's just pay the $$$ for the best service and Lexus knows that.

The dealership is expensive.. Everyone know this
Changing your airfilters, oil , plugs, belts, etc will save you much cash and its easy to do. A two year old can change air filters . I would do that yourself.
Why pay the 100+ hourly rate to have something that you can do yourself with no mechanical knowledge.
-- But, hey if you got the money and you like the free donuts and coffee at your local lexus dealer.. let them do it..

I sent my '03 SC 430 for my 30K maintanence back in Sept this year, and it cost $399.99 in Austin, TX. I called around, and even posted a similar thread here, and it seemed to be the cheapest around by far. The service rep told me that they performed exactly what was called for in the maintanence schedule, no extra B.S. I'm pleased with their work with price.
Just as an FYI, I looked at a service pamphlet for a 2000 Honda Accord coupe I had, and the 30K service was also $399.99. An they didn't provide a loaner either...

30K Maintenance Costs
I live in Northern NJ. & that's right arount the prices Lexus charges for that service. The dealer is a rip off but my understanding is you have to go there early on for maintenance as well or you'll void your "warranty" coverage? Is that not true? I have an '02 that is no longer under warranty. Therefore, my service maintenance for my vehicle goes to my long time mechanic. I took him a check list of what "Lexus" does at each service mileage point & he does it all for 1/2 the price (using same quality products though). I'm very fortunate. If at all possible, find a "TRUSTING" mechanic, if you don't want to do it yourself or get ripped off by the dealers.

That's a little on the high-side Peter.
My 30k service was 500 and I had a coupon at my tuning shop so that helped a bit.
But if I didn't have the coupon it would be a little cheaper than the dealerships around here, more like in the 600 range.
