I Was Ready To Get Rid Of My Lexus Because Of The Run Flats, Every Little Crack In The Road Was A Big Deal, (what Was Lexus Thinking?) But The Fix Is This: Michelin Ps-2 With A Extended Mobility Kit From Bmw.
The Ps2 Tires Are The Best Tire Out There For This Car Period..

I do not have a SC430, but I do have general car knowledge.
1) Make sure you order your tires from Tirerack and then get the phone number of your nearest installer and have them give you a price quote for installation and then run it by whoever you speak to at Tirerack. Tirerack gives very good prices in general and I wouldn't worry about having to price match versus them. They also have a large network of installers near by to your location!
2) Michelin PS2's are great tires, but they have a history of being very hard to balance and given the fact that she wants to drive in snow ---![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
3) 32k miles is AMAZING! On a sports car even driving conservatively I can squeeze out 15k miles perhaps... usually at 10k they are gone, how do you drive and please teach me!
3) PS2 > PS > PS A/S![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
4) Question for SC owners, do Blizzaks fit on the SC? If so, that is the snow tire you want.

Your experience with run-flats is more or less normal. Since you say you are not tech-minded, I'll explain why very simply.
Run-flat tires, by nature, are a compromise. In return for the extra security you get and more cargo room without a blocky spare tire, you do get a harsh ride, short tire life and expensive replacements. The harsh ride comes from the fact that the tire sidewalls have to be able to support the weight of the entire car with with no air in them.....that by nature, of course, necessitates a very stiff sidewall with little or no give over bumps.

Great points you guys brought up.
Now, speaking from a techs point of view. I know from experience that run flats are a major PITA to mount because of the extra stiff sidewall. But after awhile you get used to it.
