GPS problems
Hi
checking to see if anyone had a problem with their GPS, the GPS somehow thinks I'm somewhere else all of a sudden, like in the middle of the ocean, or another state. I've gone thru the re-positioning from the menus, and it would be fine for a while (between 1-2 hours), then as I'm driving, it would re-position me again, I've had the problem with my original GPS DVD, then I upgraded to the newest DVD, and still the same probem.
Any help would be greatly appriciated.
I've confirmed that I have the correct region selected, in fact when I was at the dealer to pick up a part, the CSR even took a quick look and re-positioned it for me.
I've got a 2002 SC430

I have never had any problem like that with my 2002 SC, and I don't think it has anything to do with the DVD itself.
What bothers me is that you said you did some "repositioning" yourself. I don't know what that is, but if you went into the maintenance menus you could have screwed up the configuration settings. You should never mess with the GPS settings yourself; that should only be done by the dealer with the aid of extra equipment.
A temporary error in showing you the car's location could be due to a lot of things, and recalibrating could screw up things and cause a new error in display should the original error have been external or otherwise transient.
If the error does not correct itself, bring it in to the dealer to determine the cause of the error before making "corrective" adjustments to the system.
Just report the symptoms and let the doctor do the diagnosis.

The reposition is on the system menu, just relocates the GPS, its in the GPS manual, I don't think its a specialized or dealer maintained option. I though the GPS signal is recieved from the satellites every couple of seconds, not sure how it can relocate me all the time, I guess I'll bring it to the dealer,
I was jsut checking to see to if anyone had something similar, maybe there is loose connection that is causing this.
