Remove ashtray from center console.

Pull upward on metal flange.

Replace ashtray.

Store flange in a safe place.

Enjoy more room for chapstick, phones, etc.

Removing that metal piece alone is not enough, you need to buy a sheet of stiffened adhesive backed felt and custom cut it to complete the job or it might still scratch your phone.

Very nice, good attention to detail. That little slot left behind was driving me crazy and I was looking forward to the right places being open tomorrow so I could complete STAGE 2 (haha). Soon I will realize the dream of the perfected non-smokers box.
