probably an '03 or '04.
For a few more, you can get an '05.
Note that the front/tail lights and front/rear bumper has changed for the '05 and on. Also, very minor interior seating adjustments and six-speed automatic.
there is a difference from the '02-'04 and '05-on.
But you can save several G's if you get an '03 or '04 and take that bread to upgrade the front and tail lights to become like an '05/'06 and still have some left over for some other mods like suspension, engine and rims.
Some folks here have done that.
Several people have bought from the internet and they seem to have good to fair pricing for the used ones but you will have to carefully do the research in order to get what you want.
Personally, I prefer the touch and feel when it comes to buying a product and not worry about second guessing some of the minor details that may get missed along the way.
But if you know what exactly your're buying and confident from the internet, then that's another option.
Recently, a couple of folks here have posted their internet findings on a certain price/color SC430 and was asking this forum for input.
You can do a search.
It seems that since the conception of the '02, there have been very very little (if not any) issues w/ this car entering it's 5th year of production.
Most of the owners in this forum have very minor issues due to aftermarket rubbing of the rim, runflats, trunk lid shock wearing out and other minor things that are pretty much common applied to all models/makes of any vehicle.
But so far, the SC430 forum that I've noticed here has the least amount of complaints in terms of mechanical, body and electrical issues.
The stickies posted at the top of each model fourm will be a helpful guide for you as you enter the realm of the aftermarket world. They are packed with useful fitment info. regarding rims, bodykits, paint, suspension and engine modifications.
Since it's been 5 years of the SC430 now, someone here will already have seen it, heard it and fixed it.
So there's plenty of folks here that will appropriately address any type of question you may have to ask.
I hope I've shed some light for you on this....good luck...teeman3

For 32K out of the door, you can find a nice 02, a so-so 03 or a beat-up 04 now.
Pebble Beach Edition is out of the question for sure.![](http://tinypic.com/9ax2f6.gif)
Why don't you try this 2002 NEIMAN MARCUS LIMITED EDITION?

that neiman marcus ones been on sale for a while. thats a hefty premium they're charging for NM edition, considering other 2002 SC's with 70K miles are going in the $29K range. That's like $5000 for the smoke paint, red seats and a Neiman Marcus symbol, screw that...
