Well in short: The conversion will be tooooooo expensive - roughly more than 3500 USD (worst case scenario)... and it's unclear if things work fine. Also the computer (located under the drivers side panel) which drives the AFL cost more than 1400 USD.

So all in all this attempt makes you a poor man at the end...

marcus, what parts did you quote? headlights + front bumper + grille?

don't even bother with the adaptive headlights i say. even with the ecu i wonder if it's enough to get it to work

That is very creative, Mark.

Honestly, I am more interested in knowing how to do it than actually doing it.
I know two members here who already bought these 06 headlights and grills.

Quote was for all Parts including AFL Computer.

But probably there's no need for the AFL computer.
Assuming our computer can drive the motor X-axis (the silver one, black plug on side looks identical) - in case of the conversion become very simple and less expensive. You can also use the old frontbumper for a time being.

Main Part Numbers (German Price List (NET)):

81140-24170 Headlight LEFT 497 EUR
81070-24170 Headlight RIGHT 497 EUR
90075-60077 Parking Light Plug 8.75 EUR

What i am not realy know if the headlights parts above contain the HID ballast unit. maybe someone can investigate on this.

marcus

I am afraid you are not going to get the answer anytime soon.
Not every member here is like PearlPower who is generous to share what he knows with us.
Most people are just lurkers and only come here to steal info. haha
It is too bad that he is not interested in these 06 headlights.

maybe - he hasn't read this thread right now... or he is one step ahead of us as allways hehe!!!

Unfortunately - we will need 1 pair of HID bulb (D4S) too, cuz our D2S won't fit the new socket...

marcus

p.s. PEARL ! - comon' - don't waste your money on TOMs old BK - just get the headlights and u can use TOMs new BK - which looks much better than the old one!!!

Wow this SC is very beautifully done! Looks very aggressive, badass!

Would love to hear what anyone can contribute to completion of the headlight conversion. Very cool mod indeed. We have alot of baller's on this forum hah.

Last week it looked like I was going to have to try to get this to work if I wanted the JD Design fenders. Steve over at Carson did some checking for me and I was able to get the JD fenders ordered without having to go to the newer headlights so at this point I don't think I'll be moving in this direction.
