I purchased a nice little window cleaning tool from Griot's Garage that came with micro fiber and terry cloth bonnets. I find it works very well for the interior windshield. You are able to get to most tight spots, just continue to wipe until dry. I use the micro fiber to clean then the terry cloth to dry. I too stop the roof midway to get the rear window. I sure can't think of another option.

Many moons ago, in this forum and maybe even in this thread, someone wrote that stopping the roof halfway is what the dealer does to clean the interior of the back window.

Barring a visit of several servile elves, I don't see any other way to do it.

I don't think that there is any other way to get to the inside of the rear window, and I have tried many different things since April of 2001. Leave the engine running and stop the top when the rear window is perpendicular to the ground. If the top is too far up or too far down, the weight of the top will pull it out of the stop position. Stop it so that the weight is pressing straight down.

As for cleaning, Stoners is good, but I have found Sprayaway to be excellent. Zaino glass polish is good to use once a year or so to get the serious film and grime off.

The best towel for cleaning windows is a waffle weave microfiber. Those are hard to come by in normal stores, but a standard microfiber comes in at a close second. Since marring the surface is not an issue with windows, the really inexpensive MF towels from Sams or Walmart work fine, although I would not use them on the car itself. I use these for windows and wheels. I got a pack of 25 (lifetime supply) for somewhere around 10.00 at Sams. (A good, small, waffle weave MF towel (18 x 18) usually sells for about $8.00.)

Clean body, clean mind, clean windows.

. . . "clean" was a verb, not an adjective.

That was a kind of weekend "to do" list.

I found some excellent window cleaner. I used windex and paper towels and thought I was doing a really good job getting all the crud off from the previous owner. When I finished and the sun came shinning over my windows, they looked worse than you could imagine. I remember I had some stuff from a business I used to own that cleaned glass counter tops and windows without smudges so I found it and tried it. It was really effortless and when I finished the streaks were gone and it looked clear as could possibly be. Here is what I used:

CITRA-ALL
A FULLY CONCENTRATED ALL-PURPOSE CLEANER
Distributed By:
C & H Enterprises
P.O. Box 31031
Clarksville, TN 37040
866-841-9139 Ext. 1984

This is the best stuff I have ever used on car windows. It is great!!
I think it cost me $15 for 32 Fl OZ.
Try it, I think you'll like it.

Invisible glass is good, make sure that no matter what type of glass cleaner you use avoid any with ammonia if you have tinted windows. Ammonia leads to cloudiness over time.

Based on the recommendations here, I got Invisible Glass and a microfiber towel. The difference between that combo versus paper towels and Windex was pretty amazing. I think the microfiber towel caused the biggest improvement.

I use invisible glass and diapers (clean). I started using diapers to clean my eyeglasses when i saw what a good job they did when my optician used them on my glasses after an adjustment. So now i use them to clean anything glass.

I just ran across a product at Target called Windshield Wonder for just under $10. (I'm sure that it is available other places also.) It has a microfiber pad (plus an extra pad) and a long enough handle to reach down to the bottom of the rear windshield without having to open the top. The handle comes apart so that you could store in your glove compartment.
Here is the link for the one at Target.
