Having just been through this myself, let me throw in my two cents.
Another place to look is the Lexus website. Click on Pre-Owned, SC430, and search. Don't put in a zip code and you'll get all the SC430's in the whole country. You can then sort the listings by year, price, etc.
Once you find the car you want, make sure to do due diligence including a CarFax report.
The most depreciation for a new car occurs in the very first mile off the dealer's lot. My SC430 had under 7,500 miles yet was $13K under the new price. I might have been able to do better from a private party, but the comfort of going to a Lexus dealer was worth a bit extra.
Especially because I was buying from a dealer, I didn't mind driving a couple hundred miles to get the exact color, mileage I wanted. Negotiated mostly by email. Rather painless.

Well, it's a done deal! I'm now the proud owner of a 2004 Lexus SC 430!!!!! I'm so happy!!!
It has a black exterior and wicked chromed out rims
