Yes it really is that bad. I can never get the seating comfortable. Horrible on both short/long trips, no matter how I adjust the settings. Of course, weak performance, auto. trans only, and soft paint also contribute to my dissatisfaction. Nice car for most, but I'm at fault for a poor choice for my wants/needs.

Seats that some find supremely comfortable can be pure torture for others. I traded a VW R32 for my SC430 largely because of the fact that I could never get comfortable in it. The R32 had highly bolstered Koenig seats that were considered very much high-end seats. Some raved about them, but after an hour in the seats, my back would absolutely kill me.
However, the OP's description of his driving position leads me to suggest one thing--you may find that changing the angle of your seat bottom to a flatter configuration may help quite a bit. By having your knees considerably higher than your hips, you're concentrating a lot of pressure in your lumbar region, particularly given the fact that the SC's seats don't recline very far. Give it a shot and see if it helps.

Seat comfort
It took me almost a year to where I was very comfortable in the car. I fooled with the lumbar and eventually found that no lumber gave me the most comfort. Every car and every person needs a different setting. What setting worked in my Malibu did not work in this car. Just dont give up. I almost did. It still isnt the most comfortable car I have driven but by far the most comfortable 2 seater I have driven. The seats definitetly do not hold me well in corners though. The car isnt perfect but you name a car that is. I wanted a Mercedes but forget reliability and insane repair bills and Porsches are not much better.

Hey guys, After taking everyone’s ideas and recommendations I finally found a setting that pleased me.
I took teemans advice and changed the seat bottoms setting from raised in the front and lowered in the back to lowered all the way around…. In this setting the pressure is immediately removed from my lower back and I no longer have the uncomfortable restless feeling….
Over all I have begun to love the car more and more as the miles rack up.

Hello, I am new here. Has anyone who went from run flats to regular tires also bought a donut spare ? Do these even exist and how much are they ?? How much does it kill trunk space ? Still space for a golf bag or two ?

welcome! Do a search here or look around ebay for the "sc430 spare tire kit". They go for around $700 shipped. I'm planning on getting one soon after I change my tires to non-runflats this weekend.
I'm not a golfer but I think there's space for one golf bag in the trunk but you won't be able to put the top down. You can probably stick the second set of clubs in the back seat.

seat comfort
Tommy, you could try placing some supports - made from matching leather, with anti skid mats underneath - on the centre console and the door arm rest, to raise them both by 6 inches. This will allow you to rest your elbows and thus lift your shoulders and take the weight off the vertebral column, as would further reclining the seat - if you could do this. Also, make sure the head rest does not force your head forward. It should be centred just a finger width behind the equator of your skull. Try too moving the steering wheel position. Make sure the lumbar air bag support is fully inflated. It took me a while to get comfy too, but now I have it. It very comfy for a sports car, but not the LS limo.
