Comfort in your 430?

Comfort in your 430?
Hey guys, I wanted to get your inputs on this matter. I’ve owned my 430 for about 3 months now and although a few things bother me. The biggest thorn in my side if you may, is the comfort of the car. Every afternoon as I leave my office and head home I am in agony until I get home. Now I don’t know why it is but even on a regular bases. Driving to and from work, going out on the weekends, I tend to get really ancy in the seats, and if the top is up I sometimes even feel claustrophobic. Now I don’t know what’s wrong with me., I love the car but I just can’t find my comfort zone in the car. Maybe its what I’m use to, I always have the “gansta lean” going on where I have the front portion of the seat raised, the back half lowered to create a bucket seat feeling, and lastly the back if the seat is fairly reclined. Now in the sc since I am not able to recline all the way, I think this might be the culprit? What do you guys think? Any tips, comments and opinions are welcome.
Does anyone know a DIY on how to make these dam seats recline further….. I’m down to give it a try if someone wants to take a crack at it with me.
edit; BTW I'm 6'1 slim build. How tall are you guys?

Recline
Tommy,
I have a 07 SC and there are levers on the inside of the top portion of the seat. Don't know if you have them on yours but on mine, this lever allows it to recline more. Maybe not enough for your satisfaction. Good luck in finding your car more comfortable.

Very comfortable, but pretty soft. The only seats I remember fitting like a glove were the sport seats in my M45 Sport. They were firm but quite comfy over the long haul. The SC still feels good.

w/out a doubt that I feel a rating of 5 is very comfortable for me w/ medium height and build.
I also like the "gansta lean" like yourself, and flush my bottom and back all the way down and back as far as the '03 can go. I know for the '05 and later models, they got it made w/ the additional recline.
After serveral long 500+ mile trips, when I step out of the car, I feel I'm not as tired compared to driving other Toy sedans that have the cloth interior.
I come from a "Toyota" family and that was all they bought and drove. Although, all the Toys were comfortable as well, even the older 1978 Toyota Corona Limited Edition that my folks bought as their first ever Toy back in the day.
By far, the SC430 is the most comfortable vehicle I've ever sat in. Well, my memory of a early 90's Lincoln TownCar was very comfortable as well.
That's the only other car I can say is as comfortable (in terms of sitting for a prolong period of time) w/ the SC430.

I love the comfort level. The seats adjust enough that my 5'1 body can see over the steering wheel. In previous cars I had to place a pillow under my butt so I could see. Made me feel like I needed a high chair. lol

Here's my 1-5 rating
Seats- 5
Ergonomics- 5
Acoustics- 5
Headroom- 3
Legroom- 4
Visibility- 2
For those who are counting that's a 4 overall. I guess you could say I'm a little more than content. BTW I'm 5'6" with my heels on.

I am almost 5'11" btw & I feel very comfortable in the driver's seat, though I wish the seats can be reclined like in a sedan, but hey it's a 2 seater, so what do you expect . . .

Sounds like the infamous run-flats. Usually the case around here, as most on this board will tell you.

i am 6'2" 200lbs and i find it as comfortable as can be! granted, i have never sat in the back seat but i didnt intend for this to be a family car, more along the lines of myself and a lady friend. I leave my seats rolled as far back as they go and i dont feel cramped at all. 5 all the way!
