The rims look like it sits flush with the fender. With the wheels I want to get the NEXT lower offset they have is +17, so I go from a 92mm lip(currently) to a 105mm lip. We did the calculations and that equates to 1/2 inch more outward from what it is now. With that, the measuring stick shows it will stick out from the fender SLIGHTLY. Though when lower, I could sacrifice -2 to -3 negative camber with the hope that it will lower and the rear wheels would go slightly inward avoiding the fender.

*OR*

Go with 20x11 with a +23 offset and STICK with the 275 falken tire which from what the charts say from the wheel manufactuer it is still the same lip size of 105mm if I would go with the 10.5's with a +17 offset.. My thinking is the 275 tire will strech slightly more giving me more clearence..

I went through this with my GS and tired of going through with the SC, but I am glad you gave your inputs making my life alot easier !

btw, TLW and I was checking out the inner lining of the SC for front and back, DAMN how on earth do you guys modify it??!? MUCH different from the GS.
Fender mods is pain in *** for this car.
I know some Japanese tuners just remove the inner lining to get more clearance.

I am stunned that you can get those specs to fit without fender mods.
You guys must be using Falken 451 which always looks two sizes smaller than other tires of the same size.

If your calculation is correct and those specs will only barely fit at the edge, I'll go with 20x11 +13 as well.
Outer position is basically the same for 10.5" +17 and 11" +23, and you can stretch 275 a little more for clearance.

Hope everything works out beautifully as you expect.

I am running 20x10.5 in the rear with a 285 tire. I am not rubbing and with about -2 degree's worth of camber due to the drop its not rubbing at all. I think you could go out to a 20x11 with atleast a 285 maybe even a 295 with that +17 offset. But the front of the car is a total pain in the ***. I am running 20x9 and it still rubs even with alot of work to push my fenders back ect. I wouldnt try to push the limits on the front because if you do you gonna be riding on some really thin tires. btw I am using falkens 285/30/20

Tony

Your wheel specs are 20x9 +32/F 20x10.5 +32/R
D-MAN63's setup is more like adding 15mm spacers on your front and rear wheels, so 285 and 295 won't work. I am already surprised that he can push 275.

Hi there, you rub on 20x9 with a +32 offset?? Are you using 245 tire or 255? How much did you lower the car? For some reason my current wheels 19x9 with +30 offset (245 tire) looks a little INSET I am using falkens too..

With my goal of 20x9 +18 offset, I would use a 235 tire.. I really really don't want to use a 225 tire for the fronts.. Did you modify the rear fenders ?

Do a search for 20" wheels and you'll understand why you will rub when you lower the car with 20s and use 35 series tires.. In a nut shell they are too large in diameter.

When I had the 20s I switched from a 245/35/20 to a 235/30/20 (falken) tire and it solved all my rubbing problems but it rode like a skateboard.. Unacceptable... I now run 19x9 ET 23 (front) with a 245/35/19 (non falken) with no problems, it even rides pretty good.. The bad thing is that my wheel is WAAAAAAAYYYYY in the front fender.. Sucks..

Just my 2 cents..

I have 245s on 9s and 285s on 11s. No problems here. In fact, looking to lower it more to the point of tucking the tires a bit.

I think if you want a fat tire setup up front this is the way to go. if you dont mind riding on 245/30/20 up front then you can go 20's

No, it is off and waiting to be shipping. sorry, I will have new wheels in a couple of weeks, thanks to TLW. the new setup will be 20x11, +23offset with a 105mm lip. That is the max that I could go without doing more fender mod than I would like, plus on a slightly stretched tire. Hmm, I wonder 275 on a 11" rim would be too "stretched" for me.

I never really liked the fat tire setup, it definately offer more protection of the rim but never really like the look of it.

Damn, thats going to be hell of a setup and you'll be pushing the envelope (as in if your fenders are not rolled, then you better start getting busy) . A 275 on a 11 is going to be super stretched. I had 275's on 10.5's and I hated how stretched the tires were (this was because I need to fill out some fenders) Here's the best pic I could find of my old Mcoupe showing the rear tires. So a 275 is do-able but it will be peeling back the rim protecter and will be making all the 240sx dudes jealous. Oh and don't even think about Falkens...

I can't wait to see them on your car..

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I am going with the Trafficstar RTS in silver with chrome lips. The front is 20x9 with a +18 offset with a 235 tire. the front is 77mm lip with BBK compatible. Yeah I want to push the envelope because someone has to do it right? . My car will be the "Answer" car here in the states ! Getting the answer kit with tom's sideskirts.

You have a nice pic of the BMW, man that is one sweet wheel setup!!
