The tire pressure sensors are located at the valve stems of the OEM rim, you can just switch the tires to non-runflats, the tire pressure monitoring sytem will still work. But if you decide to change the rims as well, then the new rims have to be compatible with the tire pressure sensors. If they're not, then you have to disable the warning lights etc. There is a sticky thread at the top of this forum on that you may want to read.

andrew pretty much covered everything. it's very easy to disable the lights
