Let's hope I don't have to find out, but as a last resort I would give it a try.

Also, I recall reading on the packaging that there is a shelf life for the canister of sealant (the kit is set up so that you can use the pump just for air or you can turn a valve and add the sealant, which then gets pumped into the tire). I think after a few years you are supposed to replace the cannister of sealant.

It would seem from the posts here that those owners who post here and who have the Conti kit have not yet had a flat; I'm waiting to hear a report of how the thing works out on the side of the highway (or a by-way).

Default Old vs New sensors

I just replaced the sensors on my wheels and noticed the new sensors have an aluminum or steel metal plate on a portion of the back of the sensor. The older ones appeared to be the same solid plastic material that covered the rest of the sensor. The new sensors look like they have gaps on the back through which the conti comfort solution could squeeze. I would have taken some pix, but didn't think of it until the new sensors & wheels already were on the car.

I hate to hear this, as I have had the Conti kit for over a year now. It is still handy to inflate tires without using the flat repair fluid, although I am sure there must be less expensive alternatives for a cigarette-adapter powered air pump.

My Cyclone tire inflator from Pep Boys cost $29.99. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and works great. It also comes in a nice carrying kit. I also carry a can of Fix-a-flat. I'm sure that is basically the same thing as the Conti kit without the fancy name.

I used Fix-a-flat several years ago when one of the Michelins on my SC had a nail hole. I could hear the air leaking out. It stayed sealed from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning when I took the car to have the tire changed.
