Default B.O. from A/C?

Anybody ever turned on blower fan on a hot day and had it blow stinky air at you? ...stinky like 'unda-cheese' smell, or like that kid Pigpen from Charlie Brown...quite a nasty thing I'd like to stop.

I've been told by my father and many of his friends that the reason you get that musty smell is because when you have the ac on and then you turn off your car the cold air in the ducts ends up leaving some moisture in there. After a while you get a moldy musty smell which comes on every time you turn on the air. The easiest way they told me to get rid of it, or never even have to deal with it is to run you heater for 30-45 seconds right before your going to shut off you car. this way the cold air is no longer suck in the pipes and the moldy mildew smell will no longer be created

you might need to change the A/C filter. it's easy. you just have to remove a few screws in the glove box and it pops right out. your owners manual will tell you exactly how.

"Pigpen" was a cartoon. How do we know what he smelled like?

There is an AC filter above the glove box that you can replace with no tools in about 2 minutes. Filters are a little more expensive than you would think, but are available from dealers or from on-line dealers. Some owners have cut their own filter pieces to fit, so you might give that a try first to see if that solves the problem. Also, look at the filter and see how dirty it is.

You certainly don't want your car smelling like a cartoon.
