Would you get a warning if a tire pressure sensor was broken?
Based on all the posts here, I ditched my run-flats for "regular" tires. The car does feel like it is riding on air and bumps are a whole different story. But that's not the point of this post.
When my wife picked up the car, she overheard a snippet of conversation which caused her to wonder whether one of the tire pressure sensors was damaged during the process of changing the tires.
I could let 10 pounds of air out of each tire one at a time to check the TPS, but that would take some time and effort. I'm wondering whether a fault light on the dash would trigger if one of the sensors was damaged.
Any thoughts?

If the sensor is damage it does not send an impulse to the module it reads as a default. I have had 2 sensors do this when their batteries die. You do know there is a problem but you do not know which wheel. If you have low pressure it will read the same but when you re-inflate the tires it will disappear. With the runflats I have never had a flat but on cold days the pressure will drop below 20 psi enough to trigger the sensor. Hope this has been helpful.

Very helpful.
So if they had messed up my sensor, I would know it because the central module would not get an impulse and the dash light would illumnate.
That's what I get for letting my wife drive the car!
