Ouch ! @ 1400 miles
Yesterday on my way to work a guy ran a red light and hit me square on the drivers side door. Boy did the car hold up great. By the time he hit me he was still going about 25-30 miles per hour. The window actually still works, his car needed a flatbed to leave the scene. I drove mine away(after a brief visit to the hospital).
So anybody know a good auto body shop in MA...
Thanks

Oh no! It's like Cheryl Tiegs with a boil on her cheek!
Fortunately, boils heal and SCs are repairable.
Glad you're okay. Did you go to the hospital for observation only? Or did you have some injuries. Did your side airbag deploy?

Injuries and Airbag
The hospital trip was more for observation. My neck hurt some and I did hit my head on the door just above the window. I was released in about 2 hours and was back at work the next day.
The side impact airbag did not deploy, which surprised me. However, no damage was done to the interior of the car so the sensor must be buried deep enough in the door that it did not get triggered.
I was looking in the brochure I had picked up at the dealer months ago and it has a cross section picture of the door. It has these two red bars across the door which are welded to what appear to be 6 inch square blocks of steel. These two red bars absorbed all of the impact and kept it out of the passenger compartment.
Can't say enough about the safety of this car.

"WHAM..........OUCH! OH - OH, NOW MY NECK HURTS, I CAN'T SLEEP, FEEL TIRED NOW.......
While all of your Club Member friends are just glad that you're OK, and we're really sad to learn what has happened to change the external appearance of your Beautiful Black Onyx SC, we also hope that you don't sign off with the other Insurance Company until you have yourself and your New Car completely checked out.
Practice saying these above "Catch Phrases" with a Neck Brace on in front of a mirror with marbles in your mouth, so that when you finally meet and sit down with the other guy's Insurance Company's Adjuster, he knows that he's in for a Long Settlement period, unless he wants to come your way up front with the Big Bucks, to settle quickly before your "Pain and Suffering" get worse!
Have your Servicing Lexus Dealer also check out alll of the Air Bag Switches and Control Mechanisms, in case they were damaged, and will not work the next time that you really need them.
Your Insurance Agent can guide you through the correct procedure to follow so that getting a fair and reasonable settlement is assured, as well as how to protect yourself so that your Own Insurance Company doesn't seize this opportunity to try and raise your Premiums, in this case, for the Wrong Reasons.
Best of Luck!

airbag
I wa s at lexus dealer the other day and a 430 had been a wreck. The engine was out and front of car removed. I noticed the air bags had not deployed, and asked about it . Told it did not hit squarely on front. Seems if you bumped your head the bag should have deployed. That is the second time I have seen this, and now wonder if they really work. Sorry about your accident, and hope all is well with you. Tony
