Default After Month of my SC

I took delivery of my Silver/Black SC430 in late October / early November. I must say, I'm really impressed with the car--the overall fit and finish is very opulent, the drive is silky smooth yet thrilling, and the numerous heads-turns and comments are most welcome.

The car is nearly perfects, but there are a few issues I wanted to ask the forum...

The rear suspension is uncomfortably harsh at times...I searched through the forum and it said that Lexus improved it later on in production. Mine is a 10/01 build date yet I still notice a very stiff ride going over small bumps such as railroad tracks. It also makes a bit of sound when going over these bumps, almost as if something is grinding. I haven't asked my dealer about it because from what I've read here they changed to the newer suspension cushions on later build dates. Any advice?

When opening the drivers door, there are two fixed positions in which the door stays still when open (where it sort of locks into place)--one is very wide and is only suitable when you're not parked next to another vehicle, and the other seems a bit too narrow and takes a bit of acrobatics in order to get in and out. Does anyone else feel this way? Can the dealer alter the position at which the door rests when open?

Lastly, I've read the technical specs and it says that the car has a 5.9 0-60mph acceleration time. However, when accelerating off of a red light, it seems a little sluggish (I previously from a 540i automatic, whose 0-60 was 6.1 seconds). Is there something I'm doing wrong? I did put it into ECT-POWER mode.

Thanks for any advice!

Cool

Sexy... Congratulations on your new Droptop Coupe.

Good news. Your dealer can update your rear suspension to newer smoother running specs. Give them a call to arrange an appointment. Good time to have them check out your stereo amp for possible noisy fan, and other updates.
Glad to see you enjoying your new car.
There is some controvery on the 0-60 times. Most auto magazines post slower times. This sometimes can get sticky for the manufacturer.

I notice the traction control steps in the instant the rear wheels spin by applying braking. Maybe this is the off the line sluggishness you are noticing.
Otherwise, how does your Lexus compare to your BMW?

I drive an upgraded 1993 SC400, and regularly get SC430 "kills"... I know I'm making as much power as the 430 is claimed to be... I wonder if the drivetrain eats even more power than the previous one. Anyone here with a G-Tech Pro meter or a stopwatch ever do 0-60 times?
