yes, it's used for the auto start. does this mod affect the cert warranty?

Had mine installed right at LMW in Monrovia. I was frustrated in the ensuing months because the car would beep to show it was getting my commands remotely, yet the top wouldn't go always down when I commanded it, and the start would always start when I commanded. Funny, like it was in a mood or something coz if it didn't work the first time, it wouldn't work until I did a manual start.

Funniest thing is, this stopped when I replaced the battery in my key. Key's battery strength should affect signal strength getting transmitted by key.
BUT, if the car is beeping in response, we know the signal got to the car, however weak it may have been. Why in the heck a new battery made the LuxLink less moody I don't get; but it worked, so I am happier now.

This kit can be easily taken out.

you only need the key if you want auto start. if you dont need it then you who cares about the key thingy.
