have you looked in all the usual places? craigslist, carmax, autotrader...etc?
When I was shopping for a SC a couple of months ago, I had 10 to choose from that was in your price range with decent mileage. carfax is your friend. although it's not 100% accurate, it does weed out the obvious lemons.

yes...enjoy the s2k! it's not that loud if you stay under 4k rpm ap1 or ap2?

Good luck with the find. Gammalex's SC feels like a mid-14 sec. car with its Blitz Exhaust.
