03 430 price
Just sold my 3rd SC300. Looking to get into a SC430. My new S2000 is too loud for daily commute, so looking to add to the garage.
Anyone have 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of the SC430?
There is a black for sale private party 03 model with 50K miles. Asking 28K. Is this pretty reasonable?
Where can I find the changes that were made in the model line?
Appreciate the info. I don't like dark colors, but for the right price may have to get one.

Sounds like a really good price if it is in good condition. The miles are not bad. I have a 03 (40,000 miles) and paid $36,000 for it. Bluebook said retail was $44,000 when I bought mine in Feb.? Mine was in really good condition. I probably could have got it a little less but didn't fuss. I have enjoyed it if I could just get the shimmy out of the steering wheel at 55 mph.
Good Luck!

Hey Ryan,
It's Tommy, I don't know if you remember me but I helped you with the clear corners on your mini.
Well glad to see you on here now, it’s a decision you definitely will not regret… That’s not a bad deal at all, as long as the car comes with documents and records...
Let me know what your looking for and ill keep and eye out and see what I can find.

Hey tommy, of course I remember you! I have a new Cooper S now, just got it a month ago, the new turbo model.
No go on this 430, called the guy, and it is a salvaged car, with replaced rear fenders and rear trunk.
I am looking for a commute RWD car, thus the 430. I would prefer a stick shift, but too bad they don't come in any.
If you can keep an eye out for me on a non black SC (reds/whites all ok), in Southern California for a good deal, I want to pick it up.
Thanks

I haven't really searched very much, so I am not sure what the SC prices are on the 430. I am aware that the body style is rather old, but it was the same situation with my older SC.
Mods are fine. If you know any, let me know. Mileage not an issue, since I know the lexus motors really well.

ryan, mine is 05 with ~33k miles. you have seen the car and the mods on it. like lee said, what kind of price range do you have in mind for the sc430? i am sure you know depending on years and mileage it varies a lot.

28k is a good price, I'm picking up an 03 tomorrow. 40K miles, with lexus Certified 3yr 100k miles warranty for 34k even, lexus financing was only 5.9 percent too (I had our local credit union match because we have a good relationship but they were reluctant as it was lower then thier typical new car rate).
edit: didn't see it was a salvage, but if you can float the extra 6k you could probably find a deal similar to the one I got and you'll have some assurance of reliability in the future.

not sure if you guys are using the word salvage right. a salvaged car is one that was written off as a complete loss by the insurance company. which basically means it would cost more than the car is worth to repair it right. in this case, the car is usually parted out. but if it does have a salvage title and is being sold, most likely it wasn't repaired correctly. and should be avoided at all costs.
if it's just been in a wreck and repaired, that doesn't make it a salvage. but it does lower the value a bit. regardless, lexus would still offer a warranty.

The sc430 op was looking at turned out to be a rebuild, the sc430 I picked up last week was a lease turn in, and certified by metro lexus in cleaveland, oh. Picked it up last week and couldn't be happier (glad someone else took the 30k hit on depreciation).
