Default 08 Sc?

Is there any credible news on the 08 SC? Will it have the 4.6 V8?

When ever the next gen SC comes out it will for sure have the 4.6 V8 or probably a 5.0 L but who knows.

There is probably a couple people on this site that has insider info about the car.

Since the UZ series of motors is being dropped, I dont see why they'd put an old motor into a new chassis; why not use the newer engine that all the other cars will be using?

I'd imagine it will have the 4.6L and the 8-speed. Probably will make slightly more power than the LS460, 390 perhaps?

I believe the '08 will remain the current style SC430. Information regarding the '08 Pebble Beach Edition was recently released, and it's a 430.

The '09 should bring about the restyled SC460, as well as the SC-F.

I like the current 07 model...especially in matador red, but I would like to see the 4.6 in the 2008 model. Oh well. My fiance doesnt want an SC for our next car anyways, she wants a new Range Rover Supercharged or a LS600hl. The SC will have to wait, I was just curious.

the 08 will still be sc430. the car is coming out already, the 08 PB edition will be here soon and we all know it's sc430, so that will be the case for 08 pretty much. i don't think there will be any dramatic change since facelift was in 06.

Would be interesting but doubtful as there is simply no place for the battery pack in this car. Of course the next version anything goes.

& I prefer to see a V10 SC-F rather than a SC600h anyway . . .

What would be interesting to me is that if a SC460 does appear in the current body style what type of body flex changes will Lexus make to the car.

I wonder if Lexus will skip a model year like they did with the SC300/400. The last model year of that car was 2000. There was no 2001, and the SC430 was introduced as a 2002 model, but in early 2001.

Purely conjecture, but if they followed the same pattern the 2008 might be the last model year, there would be no 2009 model, and a brand new 2010 SC would be introduced in early 2009.

The only difference is that the SC300/400 ran for 9 model years (1992-2000). The SC430 would run for 7 model years (2002-2008). If the current SC ran as long as the previous one, a replacement wouldn't be due until 2011!

but it's the right cycle life for a premium luxury car model, they shouldn't change body style as often as the econo-box's ...
