Clear Bra on the SC430
I am going to get a bra put on my car. I live in Orlando and I was referred by Lexus of Orlando to a place called Phantom Shield. I got a price quote of $695 installed. What have ya'll paid to have this done? They said they would do tint as well for $160. Any comments on these prices?
Also, is the shield worth the money? I do a fair amount of highway driving. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

The guy here in Orlando uses all Llumar products, tint and clear bra. Does anyone know much about the llumar bra? I know the tint has a reputable name behind it because that is what most dealers use.
Also, does anyone have any close up pictures of their clear bra on the car? I want to see the infamous line between the bare paint and the shield.

Clear Bra
I have the 3M product on my SC430 and an Acura RL 2007. The RL has 30,000 mostly highway miles and I do not have one nick or ding. Great investment! Paid $450 for each and went directly to the company and not the dealer. They will charge a profit.

no, it's not too late if you have a few and minor nicks and rock chips on your front bumper or top portion of your hood.
just go to the nearest dealership, get the touch-up paint (it's a little bottle w/ a brush in it) for about 10 bucks. Shake it a few times and gently brush in the tiny chips. If you're good at wet sanding, there's some instructions on how to wet sand the tiny bumps down to a smoother surface in the the "detailing section' here on CL or go to www.autopia.org for all your tips and tricks on detailing, wetsanding, polishing and maintaining your paint.
Then, get the clear bra installed.

I have now talked to another guy (I want to explore all of my options before I jump into one of these), and he said he recommends the Avery clear bra for the color gray car. He did not recommend Llumar (probably because he does not install their product) and he also uses 3m. He is the local Porsche, Lamborghini, and Mercedes install man, so he does nice(r) cars. Does anyone know anything about Avery?

I had a clear bra installed prior to delivery. $800 but then i started the negotiations for the whole package (wheels, bra, car), so I really don't know what the bra cost was. I had them do the complete front end, both mirrors and THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD FRAME. Great job and it is sure comforting when driving in the DC area.
