Does the iPhone work with the SC430?
I so tired of the BS that Verizon does with crippling Bluetooth in their phones, so I'm considering switching providers and getting a new toy, the iPhone. Does anyone here know if the iPhone will properly connect to the SC and is able to upload the contacts?
Any other thoughts and comments on the iPhone would also be appreciated.

If I recall correctly (after checking it out on Lexus's), I do not think it has a wide variety of options. I am pretty sure it cannot import the phone book or even place an outgoing call in the car (surprisingly enough). Someone confirm that for me though.

I'm sure I'm not the only one out here frustrated with Bluetooth linking capability between our cars and phones, so I'm willing to gather and compile data for all of our benefit to see which phones actually work.
Lexus has some info on phones in general it is very limited and not up to date. So please PM me with the following info and I'll compile it in to a chart for all of us to use.
Thanks in advance for your help and contribution.
Please provide the following info:
Your Lexus Model: (i.e. SC430)
Lexus Model Year: (i.e. 2007)
Cell Provider (i.e.; Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile, etc.)
Cell Phone Make / Model (i.e.: Motorola V3M)
Phone Software / Firmware version (i.e. GATW_01.15.04)
Links OK with car (Y/N)
Any special steps to link:
Link Quality – (Low /Med /High)
Link reliability – (Low /Med /High)
Caller ID is displayed on Lexus LCD Screen (Y/N)
Phone info (i.e. signal strength, battery level) is displayed on Lexus LCD Screen (Y/N)
Transfers phone book to car (Y/N)
Transfers One number at a time (Y/N)
Transfers Entire Phone Book at one time (Y/N)
Additional comments:

MY SC 430 is a 04 so I don't have BT in that but I do have a 07 GX470. The only thing I've been able to do BT wise with the iphone is to make calls the address book won't transfer. I didn't have much time to mess around with it but I'll have some time this weekend so maybe I'll try to see what's going on. BT is always a pain as you are usually obstructed by locked down or partial BT implementation on the device.

Almost exactly six months ago, I posted the exact same message to compile a database. I got exactly two responses:

Since you asked for iPhone comments also, most reviews seem to conclude that the device is misnamed.
It is a revolutionary, phenomenal, and elegant iPod and web browser (except for the slowness of the ATT network), but a pretty crappy phone. The problem is that phone functions require many more key press (drill down) than are necessary on a normal phone.
The PC Magazine review said: "As a voice phone and a messaging device, it's a loser. Call quality was the worst we've heard on a high-end device in years. Reception leaves something to be desired. It's complicated to dial, difficult to send text messages on, and missing all sorts of features that are basically assumed to be in most high-end multimedia phones nowadays."
If you still want one, the vultures who lined up at the Apple stores on the release date are dumping them below cost on eBay and Craigslist. Supply exceeds demand.
