Check Engine Light
Hey guys,
Well, for the first time my check engine light came on. Im wondering if there is a way to check the codes without having to take it in to the lexus dealership. The only difference from stock is the injen intake that i installed about a month ago. Let me know
Regards,
Kunal

code said evap emmisions. I checked the fuel cap and that was tightly on. Im hoping there is no air bubble in the fuel lines. Can any body tell me if when you take the fuel cap off, is there a little flap that is pushed in when you pump fuel. I know many cars have this and mine is either missing or still retracted up. If the sc has it then my guess is that is why my engine light came on. Thanks for the help.

Is that code for a small or large EVAP leak?
Worth checking the fuel cap is clean on the sealing face
No hoses trapped bent or blocked in the EVAP system - normally from the inlet manifold to EVAP components and back to tank.
Cheers

That little flapper is no longer in use, been that way for some time so no worries there. Which exact code did you pull?
Normally those codes on these engines are due to a bad emissions hose under the engine cover towards the right (passenger side) or charcoal canister issues (located in rear above the differential). Do you have any whistling sounds from the rear end while the car is running and warmed up? that could be due to the vacuum hose on the charcoal canister coming off which is a common occurrence.

Hi, I bought this scanner
http://www.talktomycar.co.uk/Shop/Co...ders/mj003.htm
and it does not work with my car. Fails with linking error. Anyone know why this scanner fails and maybe which one from that site would work so I can exchange it.
The other scanners are here

Thanks

Check enging light
Mine came on and for $450 the dealer turned it off. Bad O2 Sensor, #2. We have 4 o2 sensors. He did say that I now have a 12 month warranty on number 2.

Sort of common and a bear to get to as it sits above the differential. I had a vacuum hose come off the unit (hissing could be heard) and it took an extension mirror and 30 minutes of flexing my arm into positions I was not aware the human body was capable of to get that little hose back onto the canister.
