Default Intake question!

Hey guys,

I had a quick question, I have a friend who has a tuner shop and while I was there last week I noticed he had a SRT intake lying around. I asked him about it and he couldn’t remember if it was off his old Is300 or a customer’s GS430. He stated that the intakes/piping themselves were all the same with the exception of the chip/ecu thing that comes with it originally. Now the chip ecu is nowhere to be found and I was wondering…

1) Will the intake fit on my SC430? (from the look of it there shouldn’t be a problem)
2) Without that Srt ecu would my car even run?
3) the piping on the Srt and Injen look identical, their filters are a little different but would that make that much of a difference?

From what I have read the SRT piping is bigger than the Injen and it causes a loss in torque down low. It seems everyone is happy with the Injen and prefer it over SRT. Just spend the $210 and buy the Injen and you will be happy.

And you have the option to buy the nice looking Injen heatshield.

that, plus the fact that the SRT does not fit very well in the SC430. Some have cut the pipe or just misaligned the intake pipe to facilitate the fit as the front of the SC430 is different vs the GS430/400. I would stick with the Injen. I tried Blitz, SRT, and Injen and the Injen is the one that is still on my car.
