With Bob's excellent instructions I tackled 2 things:
1) Cleaning the Radio lens and
2) Getting my CD player un-jammed.
Result:
1. Got the radio lens cleaned up.
2. Failed to de-bug the ERROR 3 on the CD player.
Tip/s:
The anti-glare coating on our radio lens is on the outside. After some time, it wears away. That's what you see as the gunk. Here's the tip, clean the outside, remove the anti-glare coating. I used a plastic polish and it worked good. Use Plastx it might work. I used a Plastic cleaner, NOVUS. Now I do not have the gunky looking lens now. No need to tear the radio down. Just clean the outside of the lens.
As for the CD player, I tried all kinds of stuff but failed to un-jam the player. The player still thinks it has 6 CD's, but it is empty, I have yanked out all 6 of them.
Thanks Bob for your detailed DIY. Did not get lucky this time.
I put everything back, took it out for a drive. It is 70 Deg. Top is down. All is well.
Thank you Bob!
