Help in Buying CPO SC430
I'm in the market for a CPO SC430 and came across a deal that I think I'm going to bite. Would like the group's opinion on it. It is a Pearl white 2002 SC430 (no NAV) with 40k miles and listed for 29,990 from the dealer. This car is CPO and will come with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty. No crashes, no body work. I'm not financing, just buying out right. 1 previous owner who traded it in for the pebble beach edition. Is this a good deal? I want the collective's opinion... anything I should particularly look for? Problem areas? Thanks all.
I was looking to get a new SUV... It will be replacing a 1993 SC300.

believe it or not I bought it off ebay. There was an elderly couple on Denver, Co who wanted to trade in their SC for something more practical since they never got around to driving this one. They had a really good relationship with the local Toyota dealership so they put this car up for sale for them and took the proceeds and applied it to their new cars balance. Long story short I began bidding at 27K and won the auction at $32k and change. The car was and still is pristine, leather, paint, engine, undercarriage is all 100%.
I would tell you to hold on and look around a little bit more, I think it would be a shame to have this car and not be able to enjoy the navigation, I too upgraded from a older gen SC and I love the navigation option.

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I would check the following (I have a high mileage 2002):
- Since it doesn't have NAV, it sounds like an early 2002. Have the service dept confirm that it has the new rear bushings.
- confirm that the tire pressure sensors are covered under the warranty.
- Have the service dept confirm that the wheels are straight (you can only see this when looking at the inside edge of the rim)

bought mine last year 2002 blk/blk sc430 for 30,000 out the door....
also bargained with milano's 20" black with silver lip.... with Nav upgraded with the 2006 dvd ver 6.1... milegage @ 33,000
*man i shopped around and around and found this sucker....
So... try bargaining it alittle lower.... but if its got the warranty up to 100,000 miles... i guess its ok... ***does it have runflat tires at least... those tires cost almost 300 each.... !!!***
I do my own engine work and moding.... =)
Remember... Any car is worth any money.... If you want it that bad... but if you know that you can bargain it down because its missing some key items... it should be lower... ***they want your money!!!!
I agree with PearlPower.... 27k
Also... don't worry about the tire pressure monitor or sensor.... If you decide to add rims to your whip... it will make that annoying noise... but you can fix that in like 5 minutes!!!
There should be a bulletin on disabling tpm sensors.... =)
When i did it on mines? I was like dang thats it... sooo stupid....lolz...
Well Good Luck man.... !!!!

Be patient... There's some real nice ones out there that should fit your budget. I agree with D-Man, you should get one that's loaded. You'll never be sorry.
Good luck in your hunt.

I don't know if there is a Carmax near you but you should check it out. I got mine with 32k miles, 2002 with Nav and it was absolutely pristine. Also got a 90k miles, 60 month warranty and it was $32,400 out the door. And the warranty lets me take my car to the dealer for repair so you can't beat it with a stick.
