sc430 cigarette lighter not working
#16
After so many years and the need to add a USB charger outlet, finally replaced my CIG lighter 15A fuse! Now I have a dual USB mini adapter, cool.

Nothing much but a dual USB mini cigarette lighter adapter!

Did you add a plug-in adapter or replace the old cig lighter socket with the adapter?

Plain dual USB socket that I plugged in. I will take a pic and post.

Oh, okay. I thought that you replaced your cig socket with a USB socket. Nevermind.

On my Miata, somebody did that (replaced the CIG assembly) and it looked good, like OEM, but after I plugged my mini-usb on the my Miata, it looked the same however I can not close the cover, who cares, I might just cut the cover off.
In our SC, it does not matter, it is hidden anyway and it looked OK.

Thanks for posting this. Thought my cigarette lighter wasn’t working because of blown fuse, but replaced the fuse and still didn’t work.
A quick YouTube search and I found the solution — popped the cover on the console trim area and found that cigarette lighter had been disconnected. Hooked it back up, and now able to use the cigarette lighter to power a cheapo Best Buy Bluetooth adapter for FM. Low-tech way to have hands-free calling and ability to play music files on the ML stereo.
